Using Particles to enhance animation

  1. Particle Rotation
  2. The number that we set in the particle rotation box indicates the number of times the particle will spin from birth to death.

Lower the rate of rotation to 5 to create a slower flame.

When playing our original particle animation we saw that the height of the flame was beyond that of the lamp both in the middle of the animation as well as the end.

The Size life specifies the Initial, Middle and End sizes of particles.

Lets leave the size variance at 10 for all particles. Change the size of the Middle and Death to a size that will fit in the oil lamp.

    Set them to the following:

 Birth  Middle  Death
 20  35  30
 +/-  +/-  +/-
 10  10  10
  1. The first frame barely has a frame at all compared to frame 15.
  2. Change the Start Frame. That way there will be a small flame already in the lamp when it begins. Set the Start Frame to minus 5.

  1. Hitting the play button on the Animation Toolbar, we have tamed the fire in the Oil Lamp to not only fit within the container, but to burn more steadily than when we set the lamp on fire.
