Can I talk to other MediaStudio Pro users? |
A: |
The MediaStudio Pro Users Group, or MUG as it is more commonly known, is a group that was created by and for users of MediaStudio Pro and related software. It has been a valuable source of information for first-time to advanced MediaStudio Pro users, since 1997. Please note that MUG is independent of Ulead Systems, but enjoys our full support, and we do take note of what is discussed there.
The purpose of MUG is to provide a forum for its users to learn from each other. You can submit questions, problems, wishes, tips, ideas, or anything. The group itself is a mailing list.
In order to participate, you must sign up with the mail server. After you have subscribed, any mail message you send to the mail server is automatically routed to everyone who is signed up. In turn, messages others send are automatically routed to you. The Web site is auxiliary to the mailing list. It is a place for news, information, and access to the list's archives. There is also a tips and tricks section where fellow users can share their expertise, as well as links to other sites of interest to the video professional. |

What's the key benefit of using MediaStudio Pro8 to edit HD video? |
A: |
Quality and Speed. You get 100% quality when capturing, previewing and exporting video. We believe quality does matter, especially for users who adopt the HDV format. The whole process - from capturing, editing to encoding - is all done in MPEG-2, which is the native format of HDV. MediaStudio Pro 8.0 captures directly to HDV without any intermediary conversion, using proxy mode to do video editing for saving much CPU usage. This ensures that your videos are captured and encoded without any loss of quality. |
|
|
How do I output and share HDV? |
A: |
HDV will eventually be delivered via Blu-Ray disc or HD-DVD in most cases. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are not supported yet, but you still have many other options for sharing HDV:
- Output as native MPEG-2 PS (Program Stream) file.
This is the HDV native format. Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.0 is the only solution that allows you to capture, edit and output in native format.
- Record it back to HDV device.
Transcode HDV video to MPEG-2 TS (Transport Stream) file and then record it back to the HDV device for backup.
- Share it in WMV-HD or DivX HD format.
Down convert it to SD and share it as DVD, DV or Beta. The better image quality of HDV will still yield excellent results when downconverted.
